# Creative Work Review Checklist

Version 1.0.0 · CC BY 4.0

## Purpose

A critique framework for detecting generic language and weak choices.

## Review sequence

### Find the point of view

- [ ] The piece makes a specific choice about what it wants the audience to notice.
- [ ] That choice could not be swapped into an unrelated brand, brief, or campaign unchanged.
- [ ] The central idea appears before decorative detail.

### Test the language

- [ ] Replace abstract praise with an observable detail, example, or consequence.
- [ ] Flag phrases that could describe almost any competent output.
- [ ] Check that claims, quotations, and cultural references have support or a clear source.

### Test the choices

- [ ] Name one alternative direction the work deliberately did not take.
- [ ] Identify the constraint that made that exclusion useful.
- [ ] Keep disagreement, uncertainty, or a live tension where it materially changes the work.

### Make the revision decision

Record one of: keep, sharpen, replace, remove, or research. For every “sharpen” decision, write the concrete addition required—not “make it better.”

## Limitations

This checklist cannot decide taste or originality. It makes the review conversation more precise and still requires an accountable editor or maker.
